Green in Exile Mandy Vere

I have been a Green Party fellow traveller for many years. I ran the bookstalls at Green Party Conferences in Liverpool, and joined the Party in 2020. I was elected to the Green Party Women Committee in 2022 on a platform of raising up women as a sex, where I organised popular webinars. These included Women’s Environmental Activism, Spycops, and the first all-black-women panel for Conference, Global Women for a Greener Future.

As an ex-prisoner, I have spoken up in Conference Plenaries in support of single-sex provision for women. I have spoken against children being exposed to sexualised drag performances. I have criticised the corruption of Green Party internal elections.

I believe I was targeted for expulsion by the transactivist faction which dominates Green Party Regional Council (GPRC) and the Disciplinary System, due to such speaking out, and for being a founding signatory of the Green Women’s Declaration (GWD) which advocates for women’s sex-based rights.

“I was expelled in July 2024 by GPRC via a 4.7 ‘forfeiture of membership’. I was allowed no defence, investigation, hearing or appeal. My ‘crime’ was to offer to be a tech ‘co-host’ for a GWD webinar in which tree campaigner and PPC, Alison Teal, explained the discriminatory 19-month suspension she had been subjected to. For this I am in exile for five years.”
