I have been a Green Party member since 1984.
I have always been active in my local party and a regular attendee at Conference. I also served on the National Executive as Conference Co-ordinator 1996-99 (when we elected one MSP, two MEPs and three London Assembly Members).
After moving to Lincoln, I took an interest in the Regional Party and was elected to Regional Council. I served the maximum three terms, most of that time as Co-Chair until I stood down in 2011.
More recently, I served on Green Party Women Committee and subsequently became Co‑Chair of Green Party Seniors.
“Suspended in January 2024, following a complaint that I had failed to adequately moderate the Green Seniors email list.“
Disciplinary Committee held a hearing of the complaint against me on 6 April 2025. The outcome was that I received four sanctions:
- Censure
- 5-year ban on chairing/moderation positions, starting from the date of hearing outcome. If infringed, expulsion.
- Suspension, composed of all time served on NFS, plus 6 months from the date of hearing outcome
- Must leave Green Seniors email group moderator role and provide screenshot evidence of this to the Complaints Manager within 1 week of receiving the hearing outcome. If this is not complied with by the deadline, expulsion.
Sanction one is censure, which I accept, although I have not yet been made aware of what form it will take.
I am appealing against sanctions 2 and 3, on the grounds that they are disproportionate as I had already been 16 months on suspension.
Regarding sanction four, a member of Seniors Committee removed me as a Manager of the Google group and informed the Complaints Manager within a week. However, the Complaints and Information Governance Officer, who handles all complaints, notified me on 12 May that I was expelled for failing to comply with sanction four, claiming, when challenged, that she had never received the email.
So well done, everyone.
Ben Foley, for seeking out wrongthinkers and getting them expelled on the flimsiest of pretexts (and for reminding us to update this page):
If anyone already happens to have on file particularly bad instances of transphobia/ queerphobia/other abuse using that email list, I’d also be glad to hear today or tomorrow, please (I’m reading more than I would like, but might miss something).
Rachel Collinson, Co-Chair of Disciplinary Committee, for having fingers in so many pies and never letting her opinions get in the way of judging an issue fairly:
The majority of Green Party Women are trans obsessed entryists rallied from Mumsnet simply to divide the party on the trans rights issue.
And to all their collaborators and fifth columnists aiding and abetting the corruption of our beloved Green Party.
Explore more ExilesI think we might usefully collect dossiers of GCs talking about their position as being “scientific” (even if we think it is anti-scientific claptrap, by calling it “science” they endanger their cherished ‘protected belief’ status).
